CLP Strategies

A NEW LOOK AT THE GREAT RESIGNATION STORY

Situation

The business policy and research division of a major consulting firm conducted an extensive consumer survey to identify emerging, disruptive trends relevant to the firm’s business clients. The firm planned to release the results publicly, supported by a social media and digital promotion. The firm needed help, however, reaching influential, high-profile business and financial news media.

Approach

CLP Strategies coordinated with firm leaders, as well as the editorial and digital teams, to produce fresh content and an effective publicity strategy.  In addition to a writing a press release announcing the research findings, CLP Strategies identified a new angle on the “Great Resignation,” a story unfolding in economic news coverage. We shared our client’s data with individual journalists in one-on-one outreach, promising meaningful new information in advance of the release of our public announcement.

Results

CLP worked with a senior editors at two top-tier financial news organizations. One news story, which coincided with our press release, was reprinted in local U.S. markets. CLP worked with a second publication for three months arranging interviews, obtaining back-up data and additional information. The story was published as the cover feature in the paper’s weekend section.
